Melbourne based angler Michael Massier recently took out the prestigious "Mulwala Classic Invitational". The team at Charted Waters are excited that Michael was using the recently released Charted Waters - Lake Mulwala mapping tool and credited this to a major part of his win.

I'm always trying to find new water and spots to catch that elusive trophy Cod. At the start of this season I purchased the Charted Water SD card for my sounder and the app for my iPhone and iPad

Michael used the app as a pre-fish tool and was able to view the entire lake on his desktop, iPhone or iPad in both 3D and classic view.

The SD card in my Lowrance Sounder helped with accurate reference to location and surrounding water. This assists with easy navigating between target areas and confidence that you are fishing the exact areas you want to. At any time either on or off the water I can use the Chartered Waters app for planning locations to fish.

The ability to look at both marked and unmarked channels, depth contours, waypoints, previous catches and a few thousand lay downs at the touch of a button gives me all the extra time to concentrate on the important thing, CATCHING fish! I highly recommend any keen angler who fishes Lake Mulwala to give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

Well done Michael, awesome effort.

Col Hyland used the iPhone app during the Mulwala Classic...

We turned off the contours and used the orange dot (geo-location button in the toolbox) to hug the drop-offs around the channels. Being able to constantly stay in the strike zone was a great advantage. This led to my fishing partner Michael Stead landing three legal size cod and finishing fourth overall in the champion angler standings.”
